🍁 Maple Is My Staple 🍁
Bike wheels are prone to wear and tear over many miles ridden. So, if you’re a cyclist, replacing your wheels is inevitable. However, getting replacement wheels can be difficult with the many options available on the market. Good carbon fiber wheels are supposed to be strong, durable and lightweight. I opted for a set of Maple and couldn’t be happier with one race season under my belt on these wheels. Here are a few reasons why. Maple offers excellent performance for it’s price, specifically designed for their toughness. These wheels have been battle tested in New England on rough trails and rougher roads. This has provided Maple with the ultimate proving grounds to create wheels for everyday use and not just specific wheels for racing or training. The most affordable “one wheelset” is extremely versatile and can handle any terrain encountered through gravel, cyclocross, rocks, roots and sketchy stuff that you probably shouldn’t ride but do anyway. These wheels eat all that stuff up.
Maple’s unique approach to carbon wheels allows you to put a personal touch on each ordered wheelset. At Maple they say you can have it your way. One is able to choose from the full color range of DT Swiss, Industry Nine, Project 321, and Chris King hubs. But it doesn't end there. They'll do pretty much whatever you want for rim logos to match your bike or even team kit. With the option to even change the DT hub decals. Maple’s wheel line up has something for everyone whether your discipline is Mountain, Road, CX or Gravel. With a no nonsense approach Maple has left out the proprietary terms and vague specs approach, they have opted to use hubs and spokes you know, laced to rims that they tested themselves.
My wheels came ready to ride with tubeless valves already installed and filled with Hold Fast which is Ride Maple’s tubeless line. They offer two variations of the sealant: Road and MTB. The MTB formula has 4 different particles to help seal larger cuts and gashes. The Road formula removes the largest two particles so the sealant can be injected through the valve stem.
Bottom line, Maple wheels are a great bargain. The fact that they ride great, are durable, and come with a two-year replacement warranty makes them a solid deal.
