Race Report:
Julbo Eastern Grind MTB Race 2019
Round 6 of the BUBBA Trophy Series was held in northern Vermont at the legendary Catamount Outdoor Family Center. The Julbo Eastern Grind MTB Race course offered multiple “A” line options on fast flowing trails. The race was upgraded to UCI C1 status.
This challenging track would push racers to their endurance limits. Course distance was 5.3 miles per lap and featured 80% single track. The single track was twisty, moderately rooty and rocky, but flowed well. There were three moderate climbs, and the rest of the course was littered with short, punchy climbs throughout the wooded single track.
With near perfect weather this venue was incredible as the race brought a bit of a larger crowd to watch the best riders compete as they were gunning to earn valuable UIC-sanctioned ranking points.
That’s a wrap! The 2019 mountain bike season is over. It was an absolute joy to race this year with the Bubba Trophy Series. The premier XC racing series has grown so much in 2019. Not only did riders get to experience some of the most technical single track in the North East, but it was all done at low key, inexpensive race events for all levels of riders.
