A look back at the Root 66 Race Series. While the Root 66 Race Series is no longer a formal series, many of the races still exist. The below GoPro clip contains footage from race number 3 in the Kenda Cup East mountain bike race series which was presented by Sho-Air and RideBiker Alliance. The race venue was in a farmers field that didn’t drain well – it quickly turned into a slop fest. With temperatures in the 50s, everyone was scrambling to dig up more base layers, and limb warmers. The heavy rain turned the entire course into thick peanut butter. These less than perfect conditions led to a sizable increase in lap times, so the promoter cut us from 3 to 2 laps. Enjoy my Gopro footage as it does capture the less than ideal conditions.

Haile's Trails is a singletrack mountain bike trail in Newberry, Florida. A popular cross-country race loop that's only rideable during race weekends.The property is only open on FSC / FLE race weekends. On Saturday, the trails are open to everyone. On Sunday, they are only open to registered racers.      The racecourse views are breathtaking, the singletrack is in great condition and flows well, and you will be tested by the rugged terrain. Mainly the chunky rocks that are scattered around an old rock quarry. There are many elevation changes using the quarry terrain and medium to long climbs throughout. This makes the racing exciting.        The 2022 version of the Highway to Haile's presented by  Gone Riding had the course running in the opposite direction. Team Red Dragon MTB Race 2022

  Team Red Dragon MTB was back and better than ever in 2022. Team Red Dragon MTB race is a partnership between the @the_ccap and the Berlin High School Cycling Club that benefits the Berlin High School team and others like it around the state. This race is a full day USAC sanctioned race. @lucianoboston placed 4th today in a tough CAT 1 category on an amazing course. Race Recap 2021 FLE # 6 - 30 /60 mile - Markham Masher

    The 2021 FLE #6 - 30/60 - Markham Masher, as the state racing season moves closer to the midway point, the racing venue moved to Seminole Wekiva Trail in Lake Mary, FL. The course consisted of 8 miles of flowing single track located in pine scrub and oak hammock of the Wekiva Springs State Park. The sun was out, the humidity was low and temperatures and trails were perfect for this annual South Florida stop on the FSC circuit. The race course was fast and flowy but also demanding because of all the tight and twisty turns.  Trail Map The start and brief       Going into the race, I felt great. I had my bike dialed, I knew my fitness was good, and felt like I had good knowledge  about the course. Everything worked out perfectly, aside from a close encounter with a non racer.
